Nova Scholar was founded in 2014 by financial educator Helena Davies, who saw a growing gap between traditional financial advice and what everyday people actually needed. After years working in corporate finance, she noticed the same pattern: intelligent, capable people felt paralyzed when it came to their own money.
The problem wasn't a lack of information. If anything, there was too much—conflicting advice, complicated jargon, and one-size-fits-all solutions that rarely fit anyone's actual life. What people needed was clarity, practical guidance, and someone who could translate financial concepts into plain language.
Starting with small workshops in community centers, Helena developed an approach focused on understanding rather than memorization, on practical application rather than theory. As word spread, the workshops grew. Other financial professionals who shared this philosophy joined the team, and Nova Scholar evolved into what it is today: a practice dedicated to making financial literacy accessible, practical, and genuinely useful.
We've worked with over 1,500 individuals and small businesses, delivered hundreds of workshops, and helped countless people move from financial anxiety to financial confidence. But what matters most to us isn't the numbers—it's the moment when a client realizes they actually understand their situation and know what to do next.
